The Disney Wish Is Sailing to New York in Fall 2027
Disney Cruise Line just dropped one of its bigger announcements of the year: starting in late September 2027, the Disney Wish is sailing from New York City. If you've ever pictured skipping the flight to Florida and boarding a Disney ship right in Manhattan, this is that trip.
Wait, the Wish is coming from Europe?
Yes — the New York season is actually act two of a bigger year for the Wish. She'll spend her inaugural season sailing Europe first, then cross the Atlantic and settle into New York for seven special voyages, each four to seven nights. It's a genuinely new kind of Disney cruise: East Coast city energy on one end of the gangway, classic Disney magic on the other.
Two very different directions to sail
From New York, the Wish splits her time between two itineraries that could not feel more different:
- Bermuda — five sailings to Bermuda's pink sand beaches, with three of them extending an extra day on the island so you're not rushing back to the ship.
- New England & Canada — a fall foliage cruise up the Atlantic coast, Disney Cruise Line's first trip up that route in nearly four years. Timed right in the thick of leaf-peeping season, with those iconic red funnels against a New England coastline.
What happens after New York
After her New York run (and a stretch of Southern and Eastern Caribbean sailings from San Juan, alongside the Disney Fantasy), the Wish heads back to her more familiar home base of Port Canaveral for three- and four-night Bahamian cruises, stopping at both Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
When can you book?
These itineraries open to Castaway Club members before the general public — and the first booking window opens this Monday, August 31. If you're not sure which tier you fall into (or whether it's even worth waiting for your window versus booking early), that's exactly the kind of thing I sort out for my clients for free. I'll walk through the full booking schedule in my next post, but if a New York sailing has your attention, don't wait to reach out — cabin categories on a debut itinerary like this move fast.
