New Port Alert & Holiday Magic: Everything Else Disney Cruise Line Just Announced

The Disney Wish's New York season understandably grabbed the headlines, but it wasn't the only news in Disney Cruise Line's Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 announcement. A brand-new port of call, the return of two of the line's best-loved seasonal sailings, and a couple of genuine firsts round out the story. Here's what else you should know.

A brand-new port: Langkawi, Malaysia

The Disney Adventure, sailing out of Singapore, is adding a new port of call for the first time: Langkawi, Malaysia. Select sailings from December 31, 2026 through May 2027 will stop there, giving guests a chance to explore Langkawi's lush rainforests and scenic coastline between days at sea filled with the Disney Adventure's Broadway-style entertainment. It's a meaningful addition for anyone building a Southeast Asia itinerary around a Disney sailing.

Halloween on the High Seas is coming back

Starting September 2027, Halloween returns to select sailings with deck parties, characters in their spooky best, and trick-or-treating at sea. If your family already loves Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on land (I certainly do — I wrote about my own opening night right here), this is the floating version of that same energy, and it's every bit as fun to plan for.

Very Merrytime returns for the holidays

Right on its heels, Very Merrytime sailings return in November and December 2027, with a tree lighting, festive deck parties, seasonal treats, and visits from Santa Claus himself. Holiday cruises are one of the most requested trips I plan, and having this confirmed on the 2027 calendar this early means families can actually build a trip around it instead of scrambling once availability tightens.

A few more firsts worth knowing about

  • Disney Fantasy's first-ever Bermuda sailing — an eight-night cruise from Fort Lauderdale visiting both of Disney Cruise Line's Bahamian island destinations along the way.
  • Double Castaway Cay stops — both the Disney Treasure (a six-night Bahamian sailing) and the Disney Dream (also six nights) will make two separate stops at Disney Castaway Cay on select voyages — twice the private-island time in one trip.
  • Panama Canal maiden calls — the Disney Magic's two 14-night repositioning cruises through the Panama Canal will each make a first-ever port stop, in Fuerte Amador (Panama City) eastbound and Colón westbound. These repositioning sailings tend to be a favorite of guests who love more time at sea with Disney entertainment and dining, plus a genuinely rare itinerary.

The takeaway

Between a brand-new port, two returning seasonal favorites, and a handful of true firsts, this announcement gave Disney Cruise Line fans a lot to plan around for 2027. If any of these caught your eye, the early Castaway Club booking windows are already underway — I covered the full booking schedule and homeport guide here.
